Anniversary trip

Jeff took me to San Antonio for the weekend to celebrate our 14 year anniversary. We stayed at The Contessa on the Riverwalk and it was simply amazing. Jeff surprised me with this and we had a view of the river and at night it was absolutely beautiful with all of the lights. It was so peaceful to walk, shop and talk, uninterrupted. You know what I mean! :-) We walked the river and of course, bought presents for the kids, because that's what we do. We had dinner at Fogo de Chao and I'm sure I messed up the spelling on the name. It's a brazillian restaurant that rated 5 stars in my opinion. However, I do not believe it is a place for kids so don't take them expecting they will like it unless they're really into that kind of thing. We walked around for a bit but by that time the drunks were coming out and that was not very enjoyable so we headed back to the hotel. I love being able to reconnect with Jeff when we can. We talk about things other than the kids but we do talk about them. I really enjoyed the quick get-away! But I also loved when the kids came home and knocked me over with their hugs. I love my life.

14 years

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband, Jeff! I love you so very much! 14 years ago today, how could I have ever predicted we'd have 4 kids, live in Houston, I'd be a stay at home AND homeschooling mom (and love it)? You make me a better person. Thank you for the Godly man you have become and for leading our family in love. I'm looking forward to forever with you babe! XOXOXO

The Captain's Castle

That's the cottage we actually stayed in.

This is the Bed and Breakfast we stayed in Friday when we went to Jefferson. We had a lot of fun and decided we should do this a little more often. We also decided that would've been a great time to sleep in but breakfast was served at 9am so we'll stay in a hotel next time! It was really cold shopping but the sun did break through finally. I don't buy antiques but I do like looking at a lot of that stuff. Jeff found some old mugs he said his mom had when he was little and they drank hot chocolate out of them. I found a bunch of books and bowls and platters that brought back a lot of memories too.

To My Best Friend

Happy 10th Anniversary Jeff! I love you now more than I thought I ever could. You have been a blessing in my life and I thank God for you. I didn't think I could love you more when we first were married, but the Godly man that you have become takes my breath away. We struggled so much in the beginning and when we finally invited God into our marriage-wow! what a transformation. That's not to say there won't be more struggles ahead but I believe now with God in our marriage we will be able to get through them.

When we first met, your smile intrigued me. Your eyes captivated me. Then your heart took me in and there was no looking back. I love that we are friends, I love that we can laugh together, I love that we can just sit in a room together quietly without feeling we must force a conversation. You have stood by me, no matter what-thank you.

I love you Jeff! Thank you for loving me! What a difference you have made in my life! I am who I am now because of your love. I'm so thankful that God brought you into my life. You have made me "more", you have made me "better", you have made my dreams come true.
