In Loving Memory of Cassie Jamila Solberg

June 2009 - September 30, 2009

In DRC, the life of an infant is hard. If they live to their first birthday you might call it a miracle. Our little Cassie is one of so many who did not make it. We received word last night that Cassie had died, a victim to Malaria. We are devastated and feel her loss as if she had been with us from day one. We are heartbroken. We were in court proceedings in DRC-we were almost finished, we were so close. But it was not to be. It was not God's Will this time. His plans are so much bigger than ours, there is no understanding it at this point in our lives. What I do know is that Cassie is in His loving arms now. She is no longer in pain. We will get through this because of His Grace and His Love and His Strength. We are so grateful and thankful that we received Cassie's referral, that we received her pictures. She did not die a statistic, she died with a family loving her, praying for her, wanting her. She died with a name-Cassie Jamila Solberg. Just maybe, that was God's Plan.

We love you always sweet baby girl, our daughter, our Cassie.

Grieving with you, and rejoicing with the angels that she is home with her Father. I am honored to have been one of the many praying along with you for sweet Cassie Jamila during her short life.

We, also, are honored to be among those who loved and prayed for your beautiful, little girl. Still praying for your sweet family and all the children in DRC, tonight and always.

If there is anything you need, don't hesitate to ask. Thankfully, Cassie will never know another moment of pain. God was watching and knew she needed to go home to Him.

I am so sorry to hear this. I pray the Lord is very near your heart and the hearts of those that cared for her while she was waiting.
